What we run.
Fundamentals of Drone Operations
The basics course covers A1/A3 certification, the legal framework, airspace and geographical zones, choosing an aircraft, insurance, record-keeping and supervised flying. Built for teams who need to operate safely and coherently.
Group bookings and individual places available.

A2 Certificate preparation
The A2 Certificate of Remote Pilot Competency is issued by the IAA on the back of a remotely proctored exam — 30 multiple-choice questions, 75% to pass. It also requires you to complete and declare self-practical training first.
A2 certification is a significant step up from A1/A3. Two hours of pre-course study on our portal, around eight hours of lectures, then the remotely proctored examination with the Irish Aviation Authority.

The Drone Space team has provided advanced training to front-line services, State agencies and European counterparts.

Funding
There is co-funding, and most organisations never find it.
Drone Space delivers training through a selection of entities including the Skillnet Ireland network. Skillnet networks co-fund training for eligible organisations, which can reduce the cost you pay substantially.
Eligibility is decided by the network, not by us, and it depends on your organisation and sector. We will tell you honestly whether we think you qualify, and introduce you to the relevant network. We have a lot of experience with co-funded training and development.
The State’s fees are separate
Whatever you pay a trainer, the Irish Aviation Authority charges its own statutory fees for issuing certificates and permissions. These are the early-stage fees you should focus on to get started. Not all of them will apply to you — ask your trainer for advice.
